The Fundamentals

Having spent the past ten years travelling the world to perform at prestigious events, from Montreal to Dubai and from Rome to Hawaii, The Fundamentals definitely know how to deliver. They bring top-tier talent and highly versatile productions, equally capable of creating an intimate acoustic evening or an all-out celebration with up to 12 musicians, suitable for venues as large as the SkyDome or the old Montreal Forum. Their specialty? In one word: the party. When The Fundamentals go all in, it’s time to hit the dance floor and let loose. Their energetic, highly professional musicians consistently deliver, which is why they have built such a loyal client base. These are no ordinary musicians. Lead singer and bandleader Denis Ducharme, along with the core members of the group, comes from the popular band The Cherry Pickers. Lead vocalist Irene Marc toured Asia with Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria before returning to Canada to record a large portion of the soundtrack for the film of the same name. As a soloist, Irene can sing in English, French, Yiddish, Arabic, Italian, Croatian, Serbian, and Slovenian. Together with Denis and the rest of the band on backing vocals, The Fundamentals create striking harmonies that can instantly elevate any celebration. Irene can belt out rock songs with power or deliver a heartfelt ballad with equal finesse, while Denis and the band can perform classics such as “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” or “American Pie” with remarkable freshness and energy. Over the years, The Fundamentals have performed alongside artists such as Three Dog Night, Blue Rodeo, April Wine, Sass Jordan, Jimmie Vaughan, Jeff Healey, Ronnie Hawkins, and The Philosopher Kings. They have become a go-to band for prestigious events, including weddings and private celebrations for numerous Canadian celebrities. Whether the mood calls for romance or something a little more playful, soft or high-energy, The Fundamentals can adapt. Their repertoire includes rock, pop, funk, disco, R&B, Motown, and today’s biggest hits, all delivered with their own distinctive style and flair.
